Gerald Wayne Vernon, Jr. also known Gary Levox was born July 10, 1970. He is an American singer- songwriter and musician best known as the lead vocalist of American country trio Rascal Flatts. Gary was born in Columbus, Ohio. Before he had become famous, he worked at Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities in downtown Columbus. His first performance was when he was 8. He was in a play at his church.

The other two group members are Jay Demarcus, and Joe Don Rooney.
